What made you decide you wanted/needed to start a program? I reached a point in my health and my weight where I knew a change was needed. I had previously been traveling every week for work and was eating out for 90% of my meals. I was at the most unhealthy point in my life I had ever been. Once I got my mind ready for the change, I was ready to dive head on into a program.

What results have you achieved since starting your program? I have not only lost 30 pounds, but I am much more fit and in-shape. I have more energy throughout the day and I am able to fit into clothes that I threw to the back of my closet because they were too snug. I have more self-confidence in my appearance but also in my food choices and my fitness plans.

What do you like best about your program/having a trainer? Ryan was not only a fantastic trainer, but he also became a close friend. He constantly followed up with me throughout the week to make sure I was staying on track with my diet and he also provided workouts for the days I didn’t have sessions with him. I have had two other personal trainers before and I have not seen the results I saw with Ryan. I also didn’t have the same support as Ryan provided. Most trainers only meet with you twice a week for an hour. Ryan was following up and checking in on me almost daily. He truly cares about his clients and his job and his passion is displayed through the work he puts in!

What would you say to someone on the fence about starting a program? If you are truly ready to make a change, jump on in and embrace this journey! What made you decide you wanted/needed to start a program? We had put on considerable weight over the past few years and were much less active. We wanted a healthier lifestyle.

What results have you achieved since starting your program? We have both lost weight and have built muscle. We are both much stronger and have more stamina. We are extremely happy with the results!

What do you like best about your program/having a trainer? (I’m guessing the smoothies at the end of our session don’t count?) The meal guide (that included meals, calories and a grocery list) we received was wonderful. It was very easy to follow and the meals were very good. We started eating foods we had never eaten before and enjoyed them. Many times we were quite full and unable to eat all the food suggested. Our trainer pushed us to get the maximum benefit out of each exercise, yet was careful to make sure we did not strain or hurt ourselves in any way. He pushed us and did not let us give up on ourselves. We worked extremely hard, but also had fun. Had we walked into the gym cold, we would not have known how to use the equipment and could easily have injured ourselves. We also would have stopped every exercise earlier, rather than push a bit further. We learned to use the equipment “properly,” learned exercises that did not require equipment and we learned the benefit each exercise provided. We also learned what our bodies were capable of doint. Did we have sore muscles once in a while?...Yes! Was it worth it?...Absolutely.We are extremely happy with our experience and our results.

What would you say to someone on the fence about starting a program? The fitness program with a trainer is not “cheap,” but we decided it was time to do something. We are extremely happy we “took the leap” and started working with a trainer. It was well worth the money we put forth. It turned out to be a wonderful “investment” in our health and well-being. We would both encourage anyone thinking of joining the program to go for it. I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with their results if they follow the trainer’s guidelines.

What made you decide you wanted/needed to start a program?

I have been a fitness “enthusiast” for most of my life—but menopause ushered in a whole new game that I didn’t like playing ---mainly weight gain around the middle.  All of my old tricks to trim up were not working.  I have always loved weightlifting but wanted some additional help in hopes of making a difference and moving my measurements in the right direction.

What results have you achieved since starting your program?

My measurements are moving in the right direction!!—that is-- I’m losing fat AND more importantly gaining muscle on my journey to a more sculpted body composition.

What do you like best about your program/having a trainer?

I like Ryan’s organized workouts that push me to new possibilities—he has a very positive, motivating way of getting you through challenging workouts that make a huge difference for weight loss and toning!

What would you say to someone on the fence about starting a program?

I’ve done “on-line” programs and always had my own home routines----but these things don’t even come close to what you get with a personal trainer of Ryan’s caliber.  He has taken the time and expense to obtain top-notch credentials in the field and it makes a huge difference.  Think of this as an investment in your health and happiness—Ryan knows how to assess and execute a program that is custom made for you---and that is priceless!

If your're looking to change your life and improve yourself then Ryan is definitely the guy to help you with it. I originally came to Ryan over 2 years ago. My fiance' needed a kidney and I ended up being a match to donate. The only problem was that my weight made me a high risk for surgery. The doctors wanted me to lose 20 lbs before being able to do the surgery. I went to Ryan for help and he guaranteed me he could get me where i needed to be if I put in the work. With Ryan's help I was able to get down to surgery weight...and more. I have continued to use the fundamentals Ryan taught me and have turned them into a lifestyle. After a slow start and battling some injuries Mike has gotten his knees feeling back to normal and he is back on his bike after a long time thinking it would never happen.

What made you decide you wanted/needed to start a program? In February of 2015 my knees were in a great deal of pain. As a cyclist, this sensation is not foreign to me. I decided to take some time off the bike to let my knees heal, but the weeks turned into months and I was still nowhere near getting back on the bike. I knew something was wrong, and I needed a professional.

What results have you achieved since starting your program? Since starting the program, I have been introduced to lifting. It has proven not only to be an excellent means of rehabilitation, It has also become a new exercise interest which I could see becoming a passion. I’m also back on the bike and I feel that I now have the tools necessary to keep my body in shape for the sport.

What do you like best about your program/having a trainer? I liked that Ryan, my trainer, was there to push me. Under his supervision, I was able to accomplish much more than I thought was possible.

What would you say to someone on the fence about starting a program? If you are committed to becoming a better athlete or losing weight, I can’t think of anywhere better to train in SE Wisconsin. The staff has the knowledge and experience. All you have to do is show up and do the work.

What made you decide you wanted/needed to start a program?

I was at my heaviest weight after moving away from my gym and not signing up for another membership at a new gym. I got really lazy and eating was my hobby. After seeing the results Ryan had gotten with his clients I decided to try the Christmas Challenge and see where that took me. I saw phenomenal results and continued on with my training program.

What results have you achieved since starting your program?

I have lost 30 pounds since starting the program on 11/20/17. I have gained muscle and look forward to my training sessions with Ryan.

What do you like best about your program/having a trainer?  I’ve had a personal trainer before at my local gym. Machine after machine he would just go through his cookie cutter routine he did with everyone and not really putting forth much effort. I was never sore or even broke a sweat from many workouts there. He did not hold me accountable for anything and therefore saw no results. It is like night and day difference since I started with Ryan. He checks in with you daily on your eating and your body soreness. He pushes you during your workout and doesn’t let you get lazy on your form.

If you haven’t seen much progress with anything you’ve tried, I highly recommend seeing Ryan. He will get you results you never thought possible!

What made you decide you wanted/needed to start a program? I decided to make a change in July of 2017 after I had gone on vacation with friends and could barely walk up a flight of stairs without pain and shortness of breath. I originally asked my son if he’d help me get in shape, and he told me to call Ryan. I did, and have never looked back. I began with WPF on July 24, 2017.

What results have you achieved since starting your program? The weight loss of 60 pounds is really only the tip of the iceberg. I have found confidence that I never knew I had.  I am not afraid of my closet anymore – clothes are now my friend, not the enemy. As a compulsive overeater, I am gaining control over my eating, and understand why I used to eat the way I did. My body has been completely transformed, and I no longer suffer with debilitating knee pain, and I have no more shortness of breath. I am strong… inside and out!

What do you like best about your program/having a trainer? Having a trainer puts a person into your life who makes you accountable. Ryan goes above and beyond by constantly staying in touch with regard to the exercise and eating. He takes an interest in each of his clients and really gets to know them so he can help them to the best of his ability.

What would you say to someone on the fence about starting a program? Do it!!! And do not let the money be what stops you. We ALL spend money on many different things in our lives. When the health issues were resolved and I had my doctor’s approval to resume normallife, I started researching personal trainers. I thought Ryan matched what I was looking for and decided to give him a try.

What results have you achieved since starting your program? I have lost more than 40 pounds so far. More important than the scale is how I feel and the effect on my health. My joints and body don’t hurt like they did before I started. My blood work has made great improvements and my doctor has discontinued most of my medications.

What do you like best about your program/having a trainer? Ryan challenges me every workout. I work hard but we still have fun and I’m getting great results. It’s not just an exercise program. There is also a focus on what I eat, not just calorie count, but the balance of macronutrients (protein, fats, carbs) that keeps the weight loss on track. What made you decide you needed/wanted to start a program? First, we were concerned about recent weight gain and its effect on our glucose readings (we are both diabetic). We had grown tired of our walking routine and it was no longer effective at keeping our blood sugars in check. Second, we were a little intimidated by all the different pieces of equipment in the gym. We needed someone to teach us how to use the equipment to get the most benefit.

What results have you achieved since starting your program? We both lost weight and our glucose readings are the lowest they have been in 7 years. Cholesterol and blood pressure readings have also improved. We look better (less belly fat and more toned), have more energy, and our stamina and endurance has improved. We feel more confident using the equipment. We now know how to get the most out of our workouts and how to avoid injury. What do you like best about your program/having a trainer? Ryan made workouts fun. When we began the program we never imagined we would come to look forward to going to the gym and working out. Who would believe that two couch potatoes could turn into “gym junkies”??? Having a trainer kept us focused on our goals and kept us accountable for our progress. We liked learning a wide variety ways to strengthen each muscle group. We were never bored. Ryan kept workouts interesting and challenging by continually changing routines. Who would have known there were so many ways to do ab work?

What would you say to someone on the fence about starting a program? If you want a long, active life you need to invest in your health. It is time and money well spent. We are 66 years old and have never felt better. A good workout beats going to the doctor or popping a pill any day.

What made you decide you wanted/needed to start a program? I’ve worked with a trainer in the past (2009) and got results that I liked. When I stopped working with that trainer I knew what I needed to do when exercising. The problem? I could not achieve the same results on my own. It is just so much easier and enjoyable exercising with someone else. I decided to work with a trainer again starting in June of 2014 in order to get ready for a week of summer alpine ski racing at the Mt. Hood glacier in Oregon. Training with Ryan got me better prepared than I was ever hoping for. That is why I continue to work with him.

What results have you achieved since starting your program? I don’t fatigue as easily as I used to. I’m more confident. I’ve lost weight! And, I’m definitely stronger. I’m a 54 year old Physical Therapist; I can honestly say that I have never been stronger in my life than I am right now. As we age, maintaining the strength we have gets harder and harder. I’m actually increasing my strength which will serve me well in the long haul (It will also greatly im- prove my skiing this coming winter!). In addition, I just completed my first powerlifting competition. I set two personal best lifts in two separate events. And, I know I can do even better. That is why I’m sticking with Ryan. Working with him got me here; I want to keep going.

What do you like best about your program/having a trainer? I could do most of this on my own, but I would not achieve the same results. Ryan Norton is friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about personal training. He makes me want to be better! He motivates me like no one else ever has. I can train with him 4 days each week. The training never gets boring because it’s never the same workout. Again, I could not achieve the same results on my own.

What would you say to someone on the fence about starting a program? “What are you waiting for?” If you’re thinking about joining then you must already believe that there is some benefit in participation. There truly is! If nothing else, try it for 2 weeks. If you don’t like it, stop. But, I’m confident that you’re going to want to continue. Having a great trainer who knows what he is doing is the only way to improve your performance SAFELY while taking you beyond your own limitations.

I honestly did not think it was possible for me to get stronger at this age and figured that Ryan would only be able to me a few new moves to vary my workout routine.
